She, once, heard that holding a 'special' person's hand is the simplest and sweetest way of expressing love, care and concern.
'Special' cuz out of the many many many around, she (he) chooses to hold his (her) hand for a journey together.
Perhaps, it has something to do with the warmth of the hands, or the lines imprinted on the palm, that even though 'goodbye' is said, the sweetness and bliss linger till the next 'hello'.
Perhaps, it has something to do with the feeling of lost and cold when the other hand lets go and never know that one can ever feel this iciness and fear intrudes.

Just as being in love is one of the scariest thing ---
You'll never know how deep you will fall in love with and when you will be out of love.

Holding another hand is equally scary ---
You'll never know how tightly you will hold onto and when you'll be letting go.
