Nags
Thursday, April 19, 2007

I've been told my blog is (very) pictureless. Alright. Apologies for that but I'll be busy these days till my exams over, then I'll attempt to splash some pictures.

Just gotten over my accounting lecture with the London lecturer and he is so good. The way he conducts his lessons is I woud say 3half to four stars. He made it sounds like even I can pass the accounting papers at the pace I'm going and the standard I am at. I gonna start whinning soon. Darn.

Well, anyway after the exam, it'll be breathable. If there's such word. So for the moment, I just gonna stay alive no matter what.

Till then.

Late Update Part 2
Sunday, April 15, 2007

IF I COULD VERY MUCH AFFORD THE LUXURY OF TRAVELLING FOR SOME PERIOD OF TIME, I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES... ...

1) BAG-PACKING IN AUSTRALIA.
For say about 17 to 21 days.
Hmmm, and I wanna do that with some buddies, not alone though.

2) VIETNAM.
Say about 5 days.
Thought it is very pretty country.

3) HONG KONG.
5 days.
Can never forget how it was 'ruined' before we could ever get to the airport.

4) MALAYSIA.
5 days.
There are so many states that I have yet been to, so many I have yet seen.

5) CHINA.

10 days.
I don't mind going to the village area to do CIP again. The village area is really a beautiful place. Things that one doesn't get to see in singapore nor experience. Imagine seeing shooting stars every night and I really mean shooting stars.

6) THAILAND.
6 or 8 days.
The very first country I visited when I was 5. Spent my christmas there. Very pretty and simple. Pity that the situation's a little sucky now for me to take any risk and to convince my parents i'll be back as whole.

7) GREECE.

8) SPAIN.
Say about 6days tour and a week of self-exploration each.
I have never been to either.

9) MORROCA
7 days.
I think it's spelt this way.

10) FRANCE/ ITALY
10 to 14 days.
One of my dream honeymoon visits. For extension to other countries too. If and only if.

WELL, ACTUALLY I WOULDN'T MIND IF I COULD JUST SIMPLY BOARD A CRUISE TO AN ISLAND THEN BACK TO S'PORE. SAY ABOUT 5DAYS. THAT I WOULD BE MORE THAN CONTENTED. AWAY FROM THE CROWDS, BUSTLINGS AND POLLUTION. ONLY PURE RELAXATION AND INDULGENCE.
I'M NOT GREEDY AFTERALL. AM I?
IF AND ONLY IF... ...

Late Update Part 1
Friday, April 13, 2007

Nothing bad happened on this supposedly "black" Friday. No worry. Well, the weather was kind of gloomy with heavy showers, "raining meow and woof" as a friend would put it. Perhaps thanks to the shower, by the time I got home, I was rather tired to do anything and decided not to waste the after-shower coolness of the weather and went for a jog @ the park. I like the crispy air, the smell of the lake and the greens. Smoothen my mood and set my mind back to recharged. And I saw so many cats in the park.

Though yesterday I didn't go for the intended movie, I did my revisions for some hours before heading to Heeren to meet a friend for dinner and chill-out. Plus it was raining, so very much chilled. Well, congrats to you who have gotten yor driving license (4months ago, a bit late congrats) and gotten a job and of course, you fantastic results too.

Phantom Of The Opera
Sunday, April 08, 2007

One of the prettiest thing I've seen today. Phantom Of The Opera. Splendid. Marvellous. Beautiful. Grand. Indulgence. Luring. Captivating. The long awaited play since I guess November 2006. From last Novmeber till couple of hours ago, 7 April 2007, that really tested my patience and eagerness. I am not someone who go for plays all the time nor am i someone who would declared that I can appreciate such thing to the fullest, yet, I know I can feel the overwhelming-ness of a play if I attend one. Yes, indeed, till now, I'm still overwhelmed.

The musical is a really an awesome one. Though at the end of the play, there were about 34actors on stage to bow and receive the applause, yet we know there are more than that. The stagings, the crews, the musicians, the costumes, the directors and the list can just go on and on. Seeing that, I almost teared, to the perfect existence of all these people who make everything possible. It is more than just wow.

"Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams! Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before! Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar! And you'll live as you've never lived before ... "
"Floating, falling, sweet intoxication! Touch me, trust me savour each sensation! Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in to the power of the music that I write - the power of the music of the night ... "
"Think of me
Think of me fondly when we've said goodbye
Remember me
Once in a while, please promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long to take your heart back and be free
If you ever find a moment
Spare a thought for me
We never said our love was evergreen
Or as unchanging as the sea
But if you can still remember
Stop and think of me
Think of all the things we've shared and seen
Don't think about the way things might've been
Think of me
Think of waking, silent and resigned
Imagine me trying too hard to put you from my mind
Recall those days
Look back on all those times
Think of the things we never knew
There will never be a day when I won't think of you."

The resounding songs and music still playing in my mind.
I caught myself humming the songs while reading my notes.
"The Phantom of the Opera is there-Inside my mind."
One of the prettiest thing I've seen... ...
What a night... ...

It's Juz Nice
Saturday, April 07, 2007

Imagine, upon home, you simply said, "I'm home."
Your mum, or whoever at home, smiled and probed, "How's your day?"

I rather get envious whenever I see such scenes in Korean and Japanese drama, and event the American series. Yet, I believe most local children, upon home from school, even before they say, "Hi", they are 'greeted' with, "How much you got for your spelling (tests/exams)?" or "How much (classmates) get?" It seems to be undeniable phenomenon since perhaps our generation. Sometimes, ridiculously, when the child returned from work or school, the parents made this 'random' comment, "Why are you home so early (late)? You sure to go out later." It is your fault for being home late AND still your fault for being early.

I believe that what a child often looks for are acknowledgment, encouragement and appreciation.

When a child makes a one-mark improvement in exams, he hopes that his parents will acknowledge the improvement, encourage that he will definitely be able to achieve better with his capability and, with a bit of luck, appreciation for his effort. Something simple --- his favourite dish, ice-cream, snacks or even stickers. Anything that he can regard as a sign of appreciation, encouragement and acknowledgment. Anything, but, "Can't you do better?", "Even (whoever) did better than you" or "What kind of result is this?" and so on... ...

Another fault.
When your sibling(s) is(are) home late, you are blamed for meeting up your 'long-time-no-see' friends the next day. Anyone to enlighten me on the correlation?

More often than not, the stingy-ness in making positive comments affect the mood of not only yourself but the ones around you as well. Try this. Greet your family members, "Good morning!" and see what their reactions will be.
When you are greeted, "Good morning" by the bus drivers, what do you do?
Is it their responsibility to be polite to you to this extent? Is it ever a responsibility? Is being polite ever a burden?

I do find people's life melancholy when I board the public transports (bus, trains) in the morning and all I see are people with the same 'dread' expression. For once, I thought that was so unanimously imprinted. They make life looks really monotonous, even though they are the ones who are likely to say, "We live in a fast-paced society."
Fast-paced = monotonous = dread. Figure that out.

Life has to be more that that, even daily routine that majority of us face. Taking an-hour bus journey to school, I have the habit of tunning in to the FMs. The DJs are ever so lively to put a smile on my face, sometimes giggles. But I guess the preparation starts earlier. Before leaving my house, I will check that everything on me is in place, smile, make it a point that whoever at home knows that I am leaving and goodbye. Seeing neighbours who you know, you greet. If not well-acquainted, at least smile.
It's all these little things we do that affects our day and people around us.
What goes around comes around.
It's that simple.
Habits start young.
Setting the culture is so important.
Notes taken.
